Wind River announces tie-up with Smiths Aerospace

Bangalore, Sept. 16 : Wind River Systems, an embedded software and service provider for creating connected smart devices has announced their tie-up with Smiths Aerospace, a leading transatlantic aerospace equipment company for delivering a commercial off-the-shelf software solution.
According to an official release, the software solution which is compliant with the Aeronautical Radio, Inc. 653 avionics application software standard, would feature Wind River's new Tornado for Safety Critical Systems platform. This supports the development of a wide range of safety/mission-critical embedded and desktop systems including aerospace avionics applications, military ground vehicle platforms, military and civil ground control stations, the release said.
Our relationship with Smiths will be of interest to the Indian defence labs who are also users of our technology. We see a lot of synergy in the work being done here.
"The Indian defence business is of strategic importance to Wind River and we hope to build a strong relationship with various DRDO labs here," manager, Wind River India. Ajit Edlabadkar said.
